Before the Covid 19 Pandemic, Argentine Tango had a thriving Community in our Orange County area. People enjoyed dancing at Tango Under the Tent (TuTT) in Sugarloaf which is part of the town of Chester as well as weekly classes and workshops here in Warwick and Middletown. Unfortunately, while things opened back up and dancing resumed, Tango struggled to reestablish itself. TuTT closed and weekly classes running on fumes vanished.
Here in Warwick, after offering weekly classes with limited success we started to bring Zoya Altmark, one of the area’s top instructors to give Private Lessons. Now that private lessons are growing and interest in Tango is coming back, we hope to start again with workshops, Practicas and Milongas.
In the Hudson Valley, we are thrilled to see a revival of Argentine Tango from Newburgh up to Albany. Recently, there was the Hudson Valley Tango Festival that had a great success and in June there is a Milonga happening at the Cove in Greenwood Lake.
If you love Argentine Tango and dace tango already or would like to learn, now is a great time to join what is a new Tango Community.
